PureComfort goose down comforter
PureComfort comforters are encased with 100% sateen cotton and they're filled with gray goose down. Thanks to the 800+ fill power, the comforters are light, warm, and comfortable.
Gray down: down can vary in color - from white to gray - depending on the breed of the bird and the season in which the down is collected. The color of down does not affect its thermal characteristics – a gray down will insulate just as well as a white down of the same size cluster and maturity.
Light and natural
Our PureComfort comforters are made by hand in Hungary using the finest natural materials. The original condition of the goose down is carefully preserved during the manufacturing process: we do not damage or bleach the down so that it doesn’t lose its softness and superior quality. The down is washed with (physically filtered) purified water from our own well.
All PureComfort duvets and comforters are covered in certified Nomite casing, so they also are ideal for those with allergies. It's a clean and natural choice.
Throughout the manufacturing process, not only do we take special care of the product, but also the environment. No chemicals are used at any point in the production process, thus the environmental impact is minimal.

What Makes PureComfort Worth It
What makes PureComfort the best affordable down comforter?
It’s filled with 100% Hungarian grey goose down, offering the same loft, softness, and insulation as white down—at a more accessible price point. Encased in breathable cotton sateen and handcrafted in Hungary, it delivers long-lasting comfort, clean materials, and everyday luxury without compromise.
What’s the difference between white and grey goose down?
The only difference is the color. White and grey goose down perform the same in terms of loft, insulation, and softness. Color varies naturally based on the goose’s breed and the time of year the down is collected. Grey down has a slightly more varied appearance, which can sometimes show through very light fabrics—but not in the case of PureComfort’s tightly woven shell.
Is PureComfort safe for allergy sufferers and sensitive sleepers?
Yes. PureComfort is made with ultra-clean Hungarian goose down and encased in a tightly woven cotton shell to prevent allergens from passing through. It’s certified by OEKO-TEX® for chemical safety and Nomite® for dust mite protection, making it a great choice for allergy-conscious households and sensitive sleepers.
Comforter Guide
What is Fill Power?
Fill power measures the loft and insulating ability of down. The higher the fill power, the fluffier, warmer, and more durable the comforter. Premium goose down has a fill power between 650 and 900. For best results, fluff your comforter daily to maintain its loft and ensure long-lasting performance.
What Is a Tog Rating, and Which One Should I Choose?
A tog is a unit that measures how well a comforter insulates—essentially, how warm it will keep you. The higher the tog rating, the warmer the comforter. It’s a simple but effective way to choose the right bedding for your needs.
At Hamvay‑Láng, we offer three carefully balanced options:
Summer (4.5 tog) – Light and breathable, perfect for warm climates or hot sleepers.
All-season (10.5 tog) – The most versatile choice, offering year-round comfort in most homes.
Winter (13.5 tog) – Ideal for cold bedrooms or anyone who enjoys a fuller, more enveloping warmth.
Each version is filled with breathable Hungarian goose down, which naturally regulates temperature—so you stay comfortably warm without overheating. Choosing the right tog helps ensure better sleep, no matter the season.
How Do I Care for a Goose Down Comforter?
Protecting your comforter and pillow
First and foremost, the best thing you can do to care for your goose down comforter and pillow is to get a quality cover to protect it. A duvet cover is a must when it comes to protecting your comforter, as it will help keep it clean and protected from dirt, dust, and body oils. Likewise, a quality pillowcase can help keep your pillow protected from the same dirt, dust, and body oils that can soil it. If your bedding is well protected with a quality cover, washing is only necessary every few years.
Shake and air it out
If your bedding needs to be freshened up, you can take off the duvet cover or pillowcase and shake it out weekly, or hang it on a line for a while to air out.
Washing your bedding
First and foremost, always check the care label for specific washing instructions. Hamvay-Láng comforters can be hand-washed only. It is gentle and effective method, reducing the risk of damage associated with machine washing.
In case of minor spills:
- Spot treat them with a gentle detergent or cleanser mixed with a small amount of water.
- Avoid bleach and harsh detergents, as they can harm the delicate down filling.
- Apply the detergent directly to the stain and use a soft cloth or sponge to gently rub it.
When washing the entire comforter or pillow:
- Prepare a cleaning solution by filling a large basin with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Immerse the comforter or pillow, ensuring even detergent distribution, and soak it for 15-20 minutes.
- Gently agitate the bedding without vigorous rubbing or twisting.
- Rinse it thoroughly several times with clean, lukewarm water.
- Remove excess water carefully without wringing to protect the down clusters.
- Lay the bedding on a clean, dry surface to air dry. Periodically fluff and shake the bedding to prevent clumping and ensure even drying. Make sure the bedding dries completely to remove any lingering odors from the detergent or drying process.
If you're uncertain about washing your down bedding at home, consider consulting a professional dry cleaner experienced in handling down-filled bedding.
Storing your bedding
If you need to store your goose down bedding at any time, make sure it's in a well-ventilated area and that it's put in storage while completely dry to avoid mildew. Be sure your pillow or comforter is not compressed, which will damage the down’s loftiness and integrity.
Our zipped storage bag is fantastic for keeping out-of-season comforters, duvets, pillows, and blankets fresh, aired, and dust-free.
With the appropriate care outlined above, you can enjoy your investment in high-quality goose down bedding for years to come.
